Handpicked from a special vineyard in the Strathbogie ranges of Victoria where the soil is old, nutrient-poor and free-draining, making for exceptional fruit. Once through fermentation in French oak barrels and some time on lees (the dead yeast) it’s patiently matured for 10 months before bottling.
It’s classically creamy texture and refreshing acidity is packed with white peach, grapefruit stone fruit and a subtle nuttiness from the oak. A really pretty and delicate wine!
Unlike Chardonnay’s from the more well known regions of Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula that carry heavier price tags, it’s affordable too. And at Naked you don’t have to spend big bucks to enjoy a tip top wine!

This wine is crafted at a core vineyard called Esprit which sits at 185m elevation on a limestone slope, a truly unique vineyard in Hawke's Bay context. The growing conditions there have given a crisp lemongrass and mineral note to the wine. Rod's winemaking approach is very neutral to allow the quality fruit to shine. This delicious wine uses fruit sourced from two distinct areas of the iconic Margaret River region. There is a beautiful and fragrant batch of northern Margaret River Muscat – a Petits Grains Rouges – and some fresh succulent Shiraz from the Karridale area. Both blocks tend to develop enticing floral and fruity flavors and strong tannins and pigments, making them ideal Rosé material.
The fruit was harvested during the coolest hours of the night, preserving freshness and locking in a lovely acidity and vibrant fruit flavours. The result is a vibrant, salmon pink drop, with welcome floral aromas wafting up from your glass as you take a sip. You’ll smell rose petals, strawberry sherbet, Turkish delight, and white flowers, and what you smell is what you’ll taste too.
It’s a medium-bodied wine, with crisp and fruity freshness, natural acid and a lovely amount of texture in your mouth. There are hints of fresh grapefruit and a welcome, dry finish. It’s a Rosé that proves to be very versatile – pairing well with bright summery dishes, such as fresh seafood, crunchy salad or char-grilled meats. It will also prove very tasty with spicy stir fry.
