About the wine
Smooth, inviting and all yours!
- With past vintages proving a roaring success with Angels across the country, this full bodied, velvety drop is back!
- The small berries and thick skins of Cabernet give this wine its hallmark punchy tannins. The Merlot has less grippy tannins, and when blended with Cabernet gives the final blend a lovely velvety texture and spicy fruit cake aromas.
- Full-bodied, but not overbearing, this cabernet is well balanced with good length of flavour. This will be THE wine to try!
Best before
The wine is great drinking now; but will also develop more savoury flavours over the next few years, for drinkers who like complexity over primary fruit flavours.
Serving advice
This red will be at its best at 16-18C. No need to decant.
Food match
This is a terrific steak wine - lots of flavour and with enough tannin and acid to mop up some of the fat in the beef. I like to keep it simple with steak off the barbecue and perhaps some hickory chips on the coals. The flavour in the wine from being stored in an oak barrel will compliment the smokey note from the hickory.

Meet the winemaker - Sam Plunkett
- Winemaking legend Sam sources grapes from the family vineyard in the Strathbogie ranges of Central Victoria. Winemakers don't come much more in love with their job than him - he'd "happily spend everyday around tanks, barrels, stainless steel toys and wine".
He’s had a meteoric rise from self-taught winemaker to a multi award-winner and even has his own cellar door now! His winery was recently recognised as one of the Top 10 Dark Horse wineries in James Halliday's 2021 Awards.
The backing of thousands of Naked Angels has helped pave the way for Sam to continue making the great wine he loves, exclusively for you!
