- Ri-who-so? Yes, you may not have heard of such a creature before. Ben's 2017 vintage of this classic Italian technique blends the old favourites Cabernet, Merlot and Shiraz. Think of a luscious, easy drinking and rich drop, with a rustic tannin-based mouth feel to boot.
- Ripasso refers to a winemaking method. Ben fermented scrumptious Margaret River juice with air dried Cabernet grape skins. Those grapes were ripened to sultanas for another wine, but with so much flavour left in their skins, they were perfect to add a kick to the Ripasso blend - they were 're-passed'.
- Ben's maverick reputation is widespread in the Margaret River. His inventive and experimental skills deserve to reach a wide audience. Angels are able to snap up this boundary pushing Aussie take on an Italian winemaking tradition for under $16 - a win for Ben and a win for you!
Ben and Naomi are back with their brand new Natural Shiraz from their own single vineyard ‘Quindalup’ in the Margaret River, (All thanks to Angel funding).
The grapes were picked, foot-crushed, hand-plunged and basket pressed to seasoned oak for 12 months for maturing and held in bottle for a further 4 months before release.
Their aim has always been to create wines that best reflect the belief of minimal outside influences on the wine. Just add grapes....
Ben Gould is back with a stunning Classic Red Blend. The perfect blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and plush soft Merlot giving it all a complexity and great depth of flavour. The partial wild yeast ferment and barrel ferment adds another dimension!
Sourced from two sustainable single-vineyards vineyards in the Margaret River, this smooth easy-drinking red is perfect for a midweek BBQ, all you need to do is fire it up!
Similar red blends from Margaret River would sell for over $25 a bottle. This is an absolute steal at under $12 a bottle for Angels!
