Food: Oysters. Charcuterie. Good gossip.- This is a very special bottle. When winemaker Luke Tocaciu decided to create a Special Reserve Sparkling for Christmas, he went all in. Six different blends were tasted and tweaked before landing on this final blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Our wine team and Head of Wine tasted it as part of the 2026 Christmas Collection and selected it as a very special drop. It’s a one-off release and exclusive to this case right now.
- Fresh, creamy and beautifully complex: The Chardonnay comes from Coonawarra and Wrattonbully, bringing together ripe melon fruit and bright acidity, while Coonawarra Pinot adds extra body and roundness. In the glass, you'll get lifted melon and pear, followed by lovely bready, toasty notes. Dry, crisp and refreshing, with just a hint of salmon pink.
- Basically, find an excuse to open it. Christmas lunch, the end of a long day, the start of summer, or simply because you've got good friends coming over. Serve it cold with oysters, a cracking charcuterie board and plenty of gossip. It’ll soften and develop more toastiness with age, but Luke reckons you should drink it within two years. Start looking for that excuse now. "It is the ultimate in non-vintage sparkling, made specifically to be opulant, balanced and complex," Luke says. "The unique bottle and intricate label design emulates the 'specialness' of this Special Reserve Chardonnay Pinot."
Best before
It will soften with age, maybe develop more toastyness, but drink it in the next two years. Im sure you should find an excuse.

Meet the winemaker - Luke Tocaciu
Born and raised in Coonawarra, SA, Luke makes sensational wines that shout of his 'terra rossa' region, injecting his own vision and personality along the way. He's won numerous awards including 7 trophies, dozens of phenomenal Halliday ratings and a place in the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine.
As a kid, he earned his pocket money helping out in the family vineyards. It wasn’t long before he was bitten by the wine bug, and a degree plus vintages in South Australia and Sonoma (USA) soon followed. Ready to make his mark, he returned to the family business to develop drops alongside his Dad, local legend Patrick.
But in 2013, Patrick suddenly passed away, leaving the family bereaved and the winery without its chief winemaker and CEO. Not even 30 yet, Luke had to shoulder a ton of extra responsibility if the business was to continue. So Angels stepped in and gave Luke the assurance to continue his family legacy and keep making the wine he loves - which he does to this day.
