Sophisticated WA Cabernet Merlot
A superbly crafted drop from the blokes that bring you the sell-out Scribe wines. This time, fruit has been selected from pristine WA vineyards and blended to characteristic perfection.
This delicious drop is packed with forest fruits, dark chocolate, bay leaf and biltong, carried on the scent of violets, cassis, black tea and cardamom. Enjoy its lovely fine tannins and a long savoury finish.
- This is your chance to try a premium red we wouldn’t have got hold of under normal circumstances. It’s drinking beautifully now but will easily cellar for 6 years or more.
Best before
Although this wine was made with youthful drinking in mind, it could certainly be cellared until at least 2027, and beyond!
Serving advice
As with all red wines, we recommend giving the wine some time to breathe so that it fully opens up. A good swirl in the glass always helps, but 30 minutes to breathe is ideal.
Food match
This wine is absolutely delicious with braised lamb, served with root vegetables. It goes well with anything hearty - for the vegetarians, try a lentil and root vegetable cottage pie. Perfect!

Meet the winemaker - Ralph, Paul & Rory The Companions
- Halliday awarded duo Paul Byron & Ralph Dunning have persuaded Naked Winemaker Rory Clifton-Parks to join them in the sheds – and we’re so excited!
- Hailing from WA, Rory has been making wine for 15 years now, and has long been an Angel favourite, so the collaboration was a no-brainer for Paul & Ralph.
- Between them, these legends have 80 years’ experience, covering all aspects of the Aussie wine trade. With that kind of street cred, you can bet the wines won’t disappoint.
