About the wine
Deep, rich and powerful.
- This is a deep, brooding red - just as gorgeous on the tongue as it looks in the glass. It's full of the very best quality fruit from Rutherglen, the home of Durif in Australia. The grapes just love the region's warm climate as they hang around getting nice and juicy.
- Get ready for a BIG red! If you love a bold drop that's not afraid to show off its layers, you simply can't go past the Diamond Durif. The varietal is naturally very high in tannin so it's had a nice 18 month sleep in oak barrels to soften its wild heart.
- Jen has crafted this vintage beautifully. Dark and inky, it's packed with black berries and blood plums, dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. The rich flavours and plenty of tannin give it length and power on the finish. Make sure you're sitting down for your first sip....it may just knock you off your feet!
Best before
My Diamond Durif is delicious now for those lovers of big, fruit driven, powerful reds. It will continue to drink well for the next 15 years until 2035, when it will soften and develop some lovely leathery and earthy characters, adding complexity to its sweet fruit core.
Serving advice
I recommend opening and decanting (if possible) for three hours prior to serving in its youth, and for 1-2 hours as it matures in the bottle.
Ideal serving temperature is 14-18°C.
Food match
My Diamond Durif loves to be paired with red meat. From a big rib eye straight off the BBQ to a slow-cooked beef brisket or lamb shank, my Diamond Durif will be just the wine to make your meal sing!
There are plenty of vegetarian options too – try it with roasted cauliflower steaks, with an olive and herb salsa, or an Indian eggplant curry with steamed Basmati rice.
Contains sulphites
