About the wine
A Rosé with a ton of attitude!
Slow-ripening Tempranillo grapes from cool-climate Hilltops, NSW, provide the guts and the glory of this vibrant wine. Glen and Andrew’s winemaking magic does the rest!
The deep rouge colour hints at the depth and intensity within - perhaps it’s more of a ‘baby red’! This is a Rosé on steroids - bursting with flavour, aromas and texture.
Grab a glass and enjoy the red berry flavours & aromas and clean, crisp finish of this medium-bodied little devil of a wine.
Best before
This wine is ready to drink now. However, because of its prolonged skin contact & extraction of more colour, aroma & flavour, this wine has the potential to age for the next 3 years if stored under optimum conditions.
Serving advice
Cool the wine to fridge temperature & serve immediately. If you allow the wine to warm up you will enjoy stronger aromas & flavours & it can be enjoyed like a baby red, a light red, slightly chilled.
Food match
I love this wine with barbecued seafood chilly prawns, chargrilled octypus, barbecued whole snapper with lime & chilli.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Glen Robert
- Expect the unexpected from Glen Robert at La Petite Mort. A former medical research chemist, Glen fell under wine’s spell around 2000 – and never looked back.
- In 2014, he discovered Shiraz and Viognier vines in need of some TLC in Ballandean, on Queensland’s Granite Belt. Today, the 40-hectare Bent Road property is home to vines, winery, wilderness and granite boulders, stretching along the pristine Severn River at more than 750 metres above sea level.
- It’s a surprisingly cool, continental corner of Queensland – one of the coolest growing regions in Australia – and that climate gives Glen’s wines their distinctive elegance, savoury spice and depth of flavour.
- La Petite Mort is Glen’s label – avant-garde, experimental and made for curious drinkers, these are wines that happily throw the rulebook out the window. Think extended skin contact, ancestral techniques and plenty of Glen’s scientific curiosity – resulting in seriously intriguing wines for those who like their next bottle to be a little bit different.
