About the wine
Stunning, soft and moreish - from the Barossa's best vintage in years!
- Josh picked from three different vineyard sites in the Barossa and kept the grapes separate throughout the winemaking process so he could get the final blend just the way he wanted it. Using just the natural yeast on the fruit, and no fining agents, this wine is vegan-friendly.
- 2021 was one of the best vintages in the last 20 years in the Barossa, giving this wine its fantastic colour and flavour. It smells of blueberry and raspberry with a shake of black pepper and dried mixed herbs in the background. Soft, smooth and easy drinking - it delivers in spades!
- Pull it out at a family get together or take it to a Sunday BBQ and watch it disappear. Your mates will be asking you where you got it from and how much you paid, and you’ll be able to shock them with just how little it cost you.
Best before
I made this wine to be consumed as a young wine ideally, but I have no doubt that it will age comfortably for a minimum of five years from now.
Perhaps grab a six pack and open a bottle and see what you think. It you think it is too young, try and pop them away for another year and open another bottle. Repeat until you hit the sweet spot that suits you.
Serving advice
I think the ideal serving temperature for this wine is between 16-18 degrees Celsius, so try it in the fridge for half an hour before you open it, depending how warm it is where you are.
This wine may benefit from a bit of air also, so have a taste when you open the bottle, and if you think it looks a bit tight, grab a decanter and give it some air. Have another taste and see what you think.
Food match
You can't go past some meat from your local butcher with this wine. We are spoilt for choice here in the Barossa and have some great local butchers. Sausages will go well with this wine, as will a nice steak. But if you want to get fancy, try and find some nice Italian sausages. The spices in the Italian sausages will match this wine well.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Josh Pfeiffer
- When the pandemic left Josh’s family wines in need of new homes, Angels came to the rescue and scooped them up. His brush with Naked freedom was enough to make him want to stay, and it was a special day when Angels welcomed him to the family for good!
- Josh is a talented winemaker with four generations of Barossa grape-growers blood flowing through his veins. He’s taking a fresh approach to traditional wines, backed by barrels of passion and industry know-how from iconic wineries.
- From growing up on a Penfolds vineyard to working at Henschke and helping put his family winery on the map, it’s no surprise he landed a spot on the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine list - three years in a row. What a rockstar!
