About the wine
Aromatic and fresh!
- This is a cracking Pinot Gris from Naked superstar Rod Easthope. Sourced from four distinct vineyard sites within the Hawkes Bay region, his careful blending results in a wine that exhibits fantastic complexity and nuance.
- Pear and apple leap from the glass, complimented by a touch of fennel and cinnamon. The aromatic purity and intensity lead to a fresh, svelte palate. Each delightful sip has a floral finish to look forward to - what more could any Pinot Gris lover want!
- This wine is one of the finer examples of Pinot Gris produced in New Zealand because it unleashes authentic varietal virtues of the region. All that scrumptiousness is thanks to the incredible Angels who made it possible and of course some seriously sensitive winemaking talent. Enjoy!
Best before
Drink now or within the next three years. With a couple of years in bottle a more honeysuckle like aroma and creamier texture will develop.
Serving advice
Start with it well chilled and allow to warm a little the glass. A multifaceted wine will emerge as the temperature changes. Other than that, just twist and pour!
Food match
This wine is incredibly durable with a large range of foods. Lightly spiced shellfish dishes work well. But so does a bowl of pistachios in front of the game, or on it's own as an aperitif.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Rod Easthope
Rod is one of the most respected winemakers in New Zealand. He left top NZ wine label Craggy Range to chart his own course and make wines just for us. And he's never looked back.
He loves the freedom to make wines directly for enthusiastic Angels and looks forward to their feedback on every wine. Their support has allowed him to buy his own vineyard and winery to give his wines a home and live more sustainably.
Rod’s aim is to give Angels a slice of his unique corner of NZ, in a glass. He knows all the best growers and where their grapes are hiding, so only the best make it into his wines!
