We’ve scored another limited release of craft beer, made by our very own Derek Hooper and the team at Hooper & Co. Loophole Brewery is the label these beers are under (and technically… it’s making alcohol, just a different type than we usually talk about here!). Our heart will always belong to wine, but there’s definitely a place in our tastebuds (and bellies) for beer. 

The Hooper & Co Pilsner takes inspiration from the Bavarian lagers of Germany. It’s medium-bodied with full carbonation delivering a refreshingly crisp finish. This beer features German grown Halletauer hops and a portion of Munich malt, presenting flavours of toast, citrus & spice. This pilsner is a balanced and easy drinking style with a crispness that works great with barbecuing and pizza.

Hooper & Co was designed to allow Derek’s entire family to work together and when son Harry showed an interest in making beer, Derek encouraged him to embrace his passion. “When I was 21, my father and I started the winery here at Cape Jaffa,” Derek explains from his base in South Australia’s remote Limestone Coast region. “It's been great doing that journey together with him, and now I'm really fortunate to be doing that with my kids. [My son] Harry’s been heavily involved in the brewery since day one.”
