Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
Juicy, crunch and down right delicious!
- A sensational medium-weight red, sourced from two old vine Grenache vineyards, one 130 years old, in the Barossa Valley. 2024 was a beautiful season for growing grapes, and the wines have a real elegance to them.
- The fruit was hand picked, gently destemmed and put in open stainless steel fermenters for 12 days on skins, allowing nature to work its magic. Finally the wine was pressed into old French oak barrels for 6 months to mature.
- A bright red delight, smelling of red fruits with subtle spices and savoury notes in the background. A sip reveals raspberries, cherries and strawberry compote with fine, long tannins, carrying the wine across your tongue like a silk blanket.
Best before
I would be looking to drink this wine within the next 5 years. It will certainly age for 10+ years, but the primary fruit characters that make this wine so appealing to me will drop away the longer you age it for.
Serving advice
Grenache is one of those beautiful varieties that unfolds quite quickly, so I would suggest opening the bottle, pouring yourself a glass and watching it unfold over the next 10 minutes.
If you plan on pouring and drinking it with friends at a dinner party, a quick decant won't hurt, but get it into the glasses straight after you decant.
In the warmer months, pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes before opening. It will do it the world of good!
Food match
Grenache and pizza are a perfect pairing to me. We are lucky to have a friend with a Gozney pizza oven at home, and he makes a great mushroom and cheese pizza with truffle oil that goes really well with this wine.

Meet the winemaker - Josh Pfeiffer
- When the pandemic left Josh’s family wines in need of new homes, Angels came to the rescue and scooped them up. His brush with Naked freedom was enough to make him want to stay, and it was a special day when Angels welcomed him to the family for good!
- Josh is a talented winemaker with four generations of Barossa grape-growers blood flowing through his veins. He’s taking a fresh approach to traditional wines, backed by barrels of passion and industry know-how from iconic wineries.
- From growing up on a Penfolds vineyard to working at Henschke and helping put his family winery on the map, it’s no surprise he landed a spot on the Top 50 Young Guns of Wine list - three years in a row. What a rockstar!
