The grapes for this wine hail from three highly regarded vineyards: the Tait Hamilton vineyard in the Heathcote region, as well as the cooler Baddaginnie Run and Booroola in the Strathbogie ranges. Each parcel was fermented separately and went to barrel as a unique batch, giving this wine its rich, plush texture and strong aromatics.

Best before
If packaged in a bottle this wine would be a keeper for 2-4 years. There is an interesting trade off with boxed wine compared to bottle. Once a bottle has been opened you really need to drink it over the next few days as the big air space in the bottle will allow oxidation and brightness of flavour will fall way. Boxed wine empties with relatively little air (and oxygen) coming into the wine, so you can take a glass or two out each day over many weeks—at least a month. However the boxed wine itself is in a small way permeable to oxygen and the wine won't last the way it will in an unopened bottle. So....for this wine best to have finished the box within a year of us filling the bag!

This is a great red meat wine - really anything off the barbie. The boxed wine format is a win with travel adventures and anywhere you want to avoid glass and the risk of breakage, so maybe the pairing here includes adventure and travel...camping, caravan, sailing... I love sailing so I'll make my match barbecue porterhouse off the back of a mates boat anywhere up the east coast of Australia!

Meet the winemaker - Sam Plunkett
- Winemaking legend Sam sources grapes from the family vineyard in the Strathbogie ranges of Central Victoria. Winemakers don't come much more in love with their job than him - he'd "happily spend everyday around tanks, barrels, stainless steel toys and wine".
He’s had a meteoric rise from self-taught winemaker to a multi award-winner and even has his own cellar door now! His winery was recently recognised as one of the Top 10 Dark Horse wineries in James Halliday's 2021 Awards.
The backing of thousands of Naked Angels has helped pave the way for Sam to continue making the great wine he loves, exclusively for you!
