Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
A fresh take on a classic white
This wine in 3 words:
Magic: Delicate cool-climate white
Taste: pear, spiced apple and a hint of white flowers
Food: Your favourite seafoodYou asked for it, we delivered: introducing our first boxed wine! Forget everything you know about wine in a box - this is all the quality you’ve come to expect from Sam Plunkett’s The Victorian Pinot Gris, only in a super size and more sustainable packaging.
The fruit for this wine was grown on Carrillo Gantner's Booroola Vineyard, in ancient granite soils that help the grapes express perfume with an added sense of minimality or flinty character. Sam and his team kept the ferment quite cool to preserve the spice, pear and apple aromatics.
This Naked innovation is made possible thanks to our Angel community. Thanks to the backing and brilliant ideas of our wine-loving community, we’re able to discover new ways to enjoy independent wine.
Best before
This Pinot Gris is generally best enjoyed as a youngster. If it was packaged in a bottle this wine would not really improve, but would hold quality for 2 or 3 years. But as a bag in box I'd really like to see it enjoyed in the next 9 months and certainly within the next year. To tell you a little more...there is a trade off with boxed wine compared to bottle. Once a bottle has been opened you really need to drink it over the next few days as the big air space in the bottle will allow oxidation and brightness of flavour will fall way. Boxed wine empties with relatively little air (and oxygen) coming into the wine, so you can take a glass or two out each day over many weeks—at least a month.. However the bag itself is in a small way permeable to oxygen and the wine won't last the way it will in an unopened bottle. So....for this boxed wine best to have finished the box within a year of us filling the bag!

Food match
The citrusy freshness of the this Pinot Gris makes it a great match with seafood. Perhaps even yabbies out of the vineyard dam and into the fry pan with a little butter and garlic!

- Winemaking legend Sam sources grapes from the family vineyard in the Strathbogie ranges of Central Victoria. Winemakers don't come much more in love with their job than him - he'd "happily spend everyday around tanks, barrels, stainless steel toys and wine".
He’s had a meteoric rise from self-taught winemaker to a multi award-winner and even has his own cellar door now! His winery was recently recognised as one of the Top 10 Dark Horse wineries in James Halliday's 2021 Awards.
The backing of thousands of Naked Angels has helped pave the way for Sam to continue making the great wine he loves, exclusively for you!
