Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
A rich and full-bodied delight
"Always a good drop from Sam. Just an honest, full-flavoured drop at a bargain price point. Reliable." - Michael, Angel
This wine in 3 words:
Magic: Fruit from two Victorian vineyards, fermented in multiple ways for depth and complexity
Taste: Rich dark berries and bramble, layered with spice and cocoa
Food: Hard cheesesFruit sourced from two standout vineyards – Booroola in the Strathbogie Ranges and Gentle Annie at Dookie – each contributing its own distinct character to the wine. It's never been rated lower than 90% by Angels.
Fermented in a variety of vessels to add depth and complexity – rich, full-bodied, with dark fruit and bramble flavours layered with spice and chocolate from oak, finishing with classic Cabernet tannins.
A beautifully balanced red that’s ready to enjoy now or cellar for a year or two – sure to have yourself and your friends reaching for a glass (or two)!
Best before
Some Cabernet based wines are begging to be left alone for a year or two and I think this is one of those wines. Don't get me wrong, its a good drink now but I think it will be singing in a year or two!
Serving advice
Serve at 16-18C.
Food match
This is a pretty versatile red, and would go well with a wide range of red meats, and hard cheese. To pick just one dish, I'd go for roast lamb. The protein in the meat will make the tannin feel softer. And along with the bramble and blackcurrant primary aroma is a slight herbal note typical of Cabernet, and this will be a complementary flavour like the sprig of rosemary Mum sometimes puts with roast lamb. Delicious!

Meet the winemaker - Sam Plunkett
- Winemaking legend Sam sources grapes from the family vineyard in the Strathbogie ranges of Central Victoria. Winemakers don't come much more in love with their job than him - he'd "happily spend everyday around tanks, barrels, stainless steel toys and wine".
He’s had a meteoric rise from self-taught winemaker to a multi award-winner and even has his own cellar door now! His winery was recently recognised as one of the Top 10 Dark Horse wineries in James Halliday's 2021 Awards.
The backing of thousands of Naked Angels has helped pave the way for Sam to continue making the great wine he loves, exclusively for you!
