Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
A wine of grace, elegance and fruit purity
"Velvety. Blackberry tones. Low acidity. Divine. Absolutely loved every sip." — Joy, Angel
This wine in 3 words:
Magic: Rare, rich & smooth
Taste: Blackcurrant & wild herbs
Food: Lamb shoulder"This wine had originally been made as a one-off due to some stars aligning during vintage 2021, but as luck would have it, those stars aligned again in 2024," reveals winemaker Caroline Dunn. Grown at the foot of the Barossa’s eastern slopes — where cooling afternoon gully breezes help keep things fresh and balanced — Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec are co-fermented here to make a very Aussie red with plenty of personality and polish.
It’s rich and vibrant — blackcurrant and pomegranate lead the way, with violets and a hint of wild herbs following close behind — all wrapped up in a smooth, supple, nicely textured palate. Fine tannins give it shape and structure, while the dark-fruited finish lingers in all the right ways.
The winemaking is deliberately uncomplicated — 17 months in seasoned French oak, minimal fuss and maximum flavour — letting both varieties shine and delivering a wine that’s elegant, generous and seriously easy to enjoy.
Best before
This bright, lively wine features plenty of plush fruit and a smooth, supple palate on release. However, if you prefer a little more age to your wines, with careful short to medium-term cellaring it will develop further subtle complexity.
Serving advice
While not essential to this wine's enjoyment, allowing it to breathe for 30 minutes before drinking will more fully express its natural character. Serve at room temperature, or in warm weather allow to chill for 20-30 minutes in the fridge.
Food match
Slow roasted shoulder of saltbush lamb, chargrilled merguez sausages, or beetroot and red onion tarte tatin.
