About the wine
Savoury, food-friendly single vineyard Shiraz
-
This delicious 2020 Shiraz comes from a painstakingly rescued vineyard in the Barossa Valley region.
-
Made in a lighter, medium-bodied style, it’s a modern ‘bistro’ wine - perfumed, savoury, food-friendly and eminently drinkable. Dive into a glass of peppery plum, dark berries, chocolate and savoury spice, with a suggestion of anise and soft tannin finish.
-
This wine is made exclusively for Angels - you can’t find it anywhere else! Don’t miss your chance to try it and tell Jane & Mark what you think.
Best before
The 2020 can be drunk now, and will show a lifted fruit character, but will develop enhanced mature characters with some age.
Serving advice
The style is a sharing, café wine, but it is always interesting to open and consume, or leave, or decant, to observe any development to the wine.
Food match
The Barossa is a wonderful, and traditional food bowl. Smoked meats, lamb, walnuts and cheeses all go well. I love the delicate lachsschinken ,(smoked pork loin), and mettwurst, from the local butchers.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jane Osborne
-
Jane’s been entrenched in the wine industry since the mid ‘80s, either making it, buying it, selling it or writing about it. And she’s loved every minute of it.
-
Mark’s a 40-year veteran of the wine industry, making world-class wine for Matua Valley, Fosters and Cellarmasters in his time. Nowadays, he’s the chief winemaker, global, at Treasury Wine Estates.
- In 2016, they stumbled across a neglected vineyard in the Barossa Valley and poured every ounce of their being into re-energising its gnarly vines. Now it’s in peak condition and they’re creating Naked-exclusive Shiraz from those 20-year-old vines!
