Market Price
Angels save money compared to Market Price...
Our market price is what you’d actually have to pay for this wine at an old-fashioned retail store.
It’s based on the price of similarly rated benchmark bottles on the market.
We test these market prices every vintage with blind tasting panels, to make sure they’re honest and accurate.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Angel Price, we’ll add a credit to your account.

About the wine
Premium cool-climate Shiraz with a big heart
-
Anthony's winemaking love affair with Shiraz has prospered since the early 80's, driven by his friend Kym's unparalleled local growing expertise.
-
Kym's passing in 2013 rocked the Victorian winemaking community. Few tributes could honour this talented viticulturalist more than a wine like this - it’s his fruit and of course it’s charming, generous and full of life, like him.
-
This gorgeous Shiraz was aged in French and American oak for 18 months before going into the bottle for a nice quiet rest. Get ready for ripe berry fruit flavours, a touch of white pepper and spice and a long, smooth finish. An aged beauty!
Best before
Ready to enjoy now, however will also age well for another 10-15 years.
Serving advice
Let it breathe for half an hour, then enjoy with good company!
Food match
Perfect to match with steak, lamb shanks or hearty mushroom-based meals as a vegetarian option.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Anthony Murphy
- Anthony’s amazing career is dotted with other Aussie winemaking legends he's learnt from, mentored or worked alongside. Central to Anthony’s Naked story is his lifelong love affair with the Shiraz grape and his collaboration with longtime friend, colleague and gifted viticulturist Kym Ludvigsen.
- Both men had always nurtured a desire to do their own thing, seperate to the mass wine companies. Kym’s vast experience led him to discover the very finest Victorian vineyard site: north facing, high altitude, pristine cool-climate, brilliant fertile deep-red soil. He bought it, and planted it in 1995 with a proven, old, local Shiraz clone. “Kym believed his vineyard was as close to heaven as you could get - he loved it.”
- Before Naked, Anthony had amassed literally hundreds of wine awards including the World’s Best Shiraz for his 2005 Heathcote Shiraz at the Decanter International Wine & Spirit Competition. Then disaster struck. Kym died in a tragic farm accident in 2013. Today, Anthony continues to help Kym’s family by purchasing the premium Shiraz fruit and creating outstanding wine that pays homage to all the traits his dear friend showed - big, generous and full of life.
