Making wine the wild, organic way since 2005
- Ben & Naomi Gould are WA winemakers with 20+ vintages under their belts. They farm and make wine the wild, organic way (with Naomi’s green thumb and Ben’s stubborn focus on flavour).
- From Gourmet Traveller’s ‘Best of the Best’ (2011) to Max Allen’s, “…swag of wines that blew me away”, they’re not here for fluff. They’re focused on crafting alive, honest, WA wines.
- Thanks to Angel support they have grown from a tiny vineyard to a bigger one, converted it to organic and biodynamic, and can focus on making wines with maximum flavour and minimum inputs.

Ben Gould's Story
Ben Gould has worked every job in wine, from picking grapes at dawn to making wines that disappear from your fridge faster than you planned. It all kicked off when his dad bought a vineyard and needed a hand. One harvest turned into a winery, a degree in wine science, and a lifelong mission to make honest, alive wines that taste like where they’re from.
Then came a two-year tasting and surfing trip through Europe with wife Naomi. It sealed the deal: natural winemaking was the future. They saw firsthand how wines made with minimal intervention could sing with freshness and a true sense of place, while farming organically left the soils alive for the next generation.
Now, Ben and Naomi’s home vineyard in WA is certified organic and biodynamic, and every wine is made with that same organic, low-intervention mindset. They’re not chasing high yields or shortcuts, just healthy vines, wild yeast, and wines that are alive in the glass.
Thanks to the Angels, Ben can keep the barrels rolling, the bottling line humming, and the pizza oven fired up. It’s this support that helps keep things independent, organic, and focused on making wines that over-deliver.
As Ben says, “We can create amazing wines because we have the backing to do it.. and the customers to enjoy it.”
If you’re ready to taste what organic, small-batch WA wine should be, Ben’s current Greener Pastures wines are available now.
