About the wine
A Tasmanian wonder of the Naked world!
- Looking for something a little different in your Pinot? You've found it! The fruit used to create this wine comes from sites that are sloped to the river and ripen earlier than many other vineyards in the Tamar Valley. The climate conditions produced grapes with the perfect balance of acid, tannin and ripeness.
- All grapes were hand picked, and fermented naturally in open fermenters with no additions. The fruit was packed with variety of bunch size, flavour concentration and time of ripening. When it came to blending, Cynthea and David had a huge range of options. This is where their talent shines!
- A deep scarlet colour will fill your glass, with perfumed aromas of violets and cherries leaping out. The first sip is like devouring a cup of summer berries! Fresh, red, juicy and delicious. The palate opens up, with savoury and spicy notes and plush sweet fruit. It's medium bodied and beautiful from bottle to the bottom of your glass; certainly the kind of wine you want to have for a special occasion with great food and with great company. Get in quick to secure some of this small batch wonder for yourself!
Best before
Can be age for up to 10 years. If you are going to consume it this year I recommend decanting to help aerate the wine and open it up so that it is like ageing it for one year.
Serving advice
As above I think this pinot will be best if consumed in its first year of birth if it is decanted first. I often tell visitors in the cellar door to open a bottle pour a glass, decant the remaining bottle then compare the two side by side. The decanted portion should taste more concentrated, sweeter and have greater perfume!

Meet the winemaker - Cynthea & David Feldheim
- Cynthea has been making wine for 23 years. She started at a young age... 5 to be exact when her parents moved from San Francisco to Tassie and purchased a plot of land which they planted in 1980. It was a natural evolution to work with the vines and Cynthea eventually ended up studying winemaking and wine marketing.
- Her favourite varietals are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Cynthea absolutely loves using her sense of smell and taste as her job. It has opened her world so much more. AND, it is the best passport to travel on!
- The Angels investment allows Cynthea and her husband David more time to spend with the growers, and getting the best grapes they can. Great grapes = great wine!
