Digital Design / UX Lead

About the role
We’re looking for an experienced full time UX digital designer to create amazing online experiences for our customers. You will be the local lead, but also part of a global team and, using a data driven and customer focused approach you will help drive UX and visual design in our products and user journeys, providing intuitive solutions which meet the needs of our customers and commercial objectives of the business.
You will also have strong front-end development skills, being an expert in building HTML, CSS, and javascript code for the web using current and emerging technologies.

Manly, Sydney AU (Work from home Hybrid)
Our beachside offices are located in Manly on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, approximately 30min via ferry from Sydney’s CBD (which we love!), so a lunch time swim or surf is always on the cards.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the team to solve UX problems through a test and learn approach
- Producing UX concepts and designs, ensuring their technical feasibility
- Key member of product development to ensure local execution and local UX is championed Helping maintain and develop our UI/design system
- Develop and work closely with front-end dev to implement new user-facing features
- Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
- Help back-end developers and end stakeholders with coding and troubleshooting
- Write functional requirement documents and guides
- Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders both locally and globally
- Preparing layouts or mock-ups for both print and digital medium, ensuring high quality graphic standards and brand consistency
- Wireframing and prototyping projects following global and local requirements
- Lead and optimise our design/ development process locally ensuring it falls in line with global standards
- Project management and prioritisation for design/dev projects based on business priorities and impact
Knowledge & Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years industry experience
- Strong knowledge of Figma, Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
- Good knowledge of wireframing and prototyping approaches and tools
- Solid understanding of user centred design and testing methodologies
- UX / Analytics comfort - able to use data to identify and evaluate impact
- Experience of working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and communicating design rationale/approach
- Experience of working in an Agile team is a bonus
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS (including Sass or LESS) and Javascript/jQuery - especially working with design for ecommerce, CRM systems.
- Familiar with code versioning control via Git
- Excellent understanding of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues
- Adherence to web standards and best practices
- Knowledge of client-side performance issues and optimisation techniques
- Good understanding of common design patterns and responsive frameworks
- Knowledge and experience working with Contentful or similar CMS platform
- Experience with ClickUp or other project management tool
